IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (“IINO LINES”) is proud to announce the delivery of Creole Sun, a 49,000 deadweight tonne methanol carrier equipped with two-stroke dual-fuel methanol-powered engine technology. Built in South Korea at the Hyundai MIPO Dockyard, this vessel is owned by joint investment from IINO LINES and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (“Mitsui”). IINO Marine Service, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IINO LINES, offers ship management service. The vessel’s delivery marks the latest milestone in IINO LINES’ continued investment into new technologies that address increased regulations to minimize marine pollution.
Creole Sun was constructed with MAN Energy Solutions second-generation B&W ME-LGIM two-stroke dual-fuel engine that runs on both methanol and very low sulphur marine fuel. The vessel is chartered to Waterfront Shipping Company Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Methanex Corporation, the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol, in a long-term charter agreement.
